At the scouting a lively discussion was had regarding quality and detail of various map makers and various grid systems. As such I offered to do a brief session on maps, how to read them, and a comparison of how various mapping agencies (including open street map/ open cycle map), show information on their maps. I'm bringing with me maps covering 11... [see comment section for further information]

Describe the configuration of the Dual stack router in the hall and how globally routable IPv4 addresses are provided to the users.
Will also demonstrate how firewall rules can connection log traffic and an alternative method using Netflow can give more information.

We recently took delivery of an X-Carve, an Arduino controlled CNC router. This talk is about the problems we had putting it together from the kit and getting it working, and the fun we are having playing with it.

End: Aug. 18, 2015, 2 p.m.
Over the course of the last year I've lightened the load I carry, and got out more on more small adventures, called #microadventures. This is a short talk on how I took my hiking backpack from 15kg to under 5kg, and the new adventures this has opened up.

The history and future of computing.
Revisiting my talk in Bouillon in 2001.
Let's have a look at where we have come from, and what the future might bring.

On the Eastern end of "Lac de-la Haute-Sure", Esch-sur-Sure is picturesque town that's only a 15 minute Southerly drive from Wiltz.
There is to visit the castle, cliffs (no falling down any holes this time!) and choose between a 4km or 8km walk, or just doss around the lakeside depending on the weather.
One car is going, but you will need to cuddle a dog for the duration unless more vehicles can be found.
Start: Aug. 19, 2015, 8 a.m.
End: Aug. 19, 2015, 2 p.m.
I've been working on a project over the past few months which includes the use of the OpenCV library for computer vision.
I plan to present this project (which, although not quite complete, is still sufficiently interesting, I think) and to discuss some of the capabilities of the OpenCV library.
There will also be Lego involved.
Start: Aug. 19, 2015, 1 p.m.
End: Aug. 19, 2015, 2 p.m.
Programming for performance.
This talk will not give you direct practical programming hints & tips for your current compiler and your current cpu.
Rather, it will cover the general issues of changing hardware properties, and where to look when you would like to extract more performance from a system.
In this day & age, one can still achieve 100x performance improvements.
Start: Aug. 19, 2015, 3 p.m.
End: Aug. 19, 2015, 4 p.m.
Normally held on a Thursday, apparently this traditional event has been preempted by the Pub Quiz on that day. Not worry though, as this *is* pitched as an Unconference on various podcasts (full marks here BTW! :-), let's schedule it for the Wednesday instead. I'll bring at least one movie for the diversion of the assembled parish, more contributions are of course welcome as it is an LBW tradition
Start: Aug. 19, 2015, 7 p.m.
End: Aug. 19, 2015, 10 p.m.
For the more ambitious bikers attending LBW, lets put together a fouur^H^H^H^Hthree country bike trip with a total distance maybe in the range of 40 - 50 km.
Suggestions for routes welcome. Otherwise I will research this within the next few weeks and post updates here and on the mailing list.
Update: after reviewing the maps, sampling the layout of Luxemburg's countryside and considering my biking equipment, I'm inclined to think that attempting to take in four countries is a bit too ambitious. So I suggest leaving out France and just make a three country tour, taking in Luxemburg,Belgium and Germany. I'll post a route suggestion today (Monday).
Start: Aug. 20, 2015, 8 a.m.
End: Aug. 20, 2015, 2 p.m.
For those of us unable to join the cycle ride Bastogne is a ~25min drive from Wiltz. There is a lift available so long as you don't mind hugging a pup for the duration; hopefully more vehicles will be going.
Something, somwhere, somewhen that may include the possibility of meeting up with the sweaty peddle-monkeys for lunch.
Suggestions on what to do on the mailing list or in comments, please (Wood of Peace? Mardasson Memorial?)
Start: Aug. 20, 2015, 8 a.m.
End: Aug. 20, 2015, 2 p.m.
David Crye discusses the six Wifi Access Points in the Wiltz event hall from the perspective of radio frequency planning, avoiding co-channel interference and avoiding adjacent channel interference. Both 2GHz and 5GHz in use. These are follow on improvements learnt from four Access Points used at Talybont-on-Usk in LBW 2014.
Start: Aug. 20, 2015, 4 p.m.
End: Aug. 20, 2015, 4:30 p.m.
Now in its 3rd year, the LBW Pub quiz returns. Expect more ridiculous questions on coding, recordable media and computer science history. Prize for the winning team, general derision for the losers.
remember, the Quiz mistress is ALWAYS right.
Start: Aug. 20, 2015, 5 p.m.
End: Aug. 20, 2015, 6 p.m.
Starting from just above Wiltz the 16km Sentier de la Wiltz follows the valley downstream to the village of Goebelsmühle, where the train can be used to return to Wiltz.
Stopping off for lunch in a village along the route.

End: Aug. 21, 2015, 1:30 p.m.
Tradition has it that we have a discussion at some point during the LBW about where we go in future years. This will be a freeform discussion for everyone to suggest ideas for where to go in future years.
Start: Aug. 21, 2015, 3 p.m.
End: Aug. 21, 2015, 4 p.m.
