LED lights have improved dramatically in the last few years with improvements in both efficiency and colour rendering (CRI). I'll describe what options are on the market today and some of the selection criteria. I'll also cover how they are manufactured and work (but not the physics). Most recently Philips in collaboration with Dubai Municipality have come up with the "Dubai Lamp" (not to be confused with the Torch building which caught fire a second time) which runs at an efficiency of 200 lumens per watt combined with a CRI of 80. They don't even get warm. I'll bring along some examples of 1W, 2W and 3W lightbulbs for you to gaze admiringly at. | |||||
