Wanderung footwear advised. Some canal paths can be muddy. Any river path is likely muddy. Mostly flat Wanderung. Step over on canal lock gates from tow path to one pub so smart phones secured in your zip-pockets or fully closed rucksacks ! 9:30am We meet on foot steps of the All Saints Parish Church at Priory Terrace , Leamington Spa, CV31 1AA. This is seen at the junction of Priory Terrace, Spencer Street, Bath Street and Church Walk There is also a sculpture of light green/blue painted metal curly things with concrete seats near the bus stop. In 2006 the sculptor said it was a spring. It may also look like an oscilloscope wave form ? 10:00am, stock up on Wanderung energy of Coffee and Cake in the old town at Procaffeinate, 66 Clemens Street, Leamington Spa, CV31 2DN Upper terrace seating and lower terrace seating with views over the Grand Union Canal, Then we walk through the old town to reach first pub opening time First canal side pub, opens 12:00-00:30, no statement on food. The Fusilier, Sydenham Drive, Sydenham (being East suburb of), Leamington Spa, CV31 1NJ Second canal side pub, opens 10:00-23:00, kitchen open 12:00-21:30 The Moorings, Myton Road (A425) (being West part of), Leamington Spa, CV31 3NY. Approaching the third canal pub, The Cape of Good Hope, there is a foot bridge then two sets of lock gates. From the canal tow path, north side, there are two ways to cross the canal to the pub on south side:- 1 Lock Gate with double rail on each part of second gate. Ensure smart phones are secured in clothes in zip pockets! Ensure rucksacks fully on shoulders ! Nothing in hands. Walk past first set of lock gates pair. Walk to second set of lock gates pair going to the second gate. Walk over lock gate using both hands onto double rails being the second gate. 2 Footbridge, pedestrian use, solid. A safer route by paths and roads if you wish. on tow path 75 metres back east from C-O-G-H pub before first set lock gates. This footbridge crosses over to South side and then circles around. is foot bridge start is foot bridge far side is path start into Lock Lane. Walk down lane, turn right down a footpath keep on that path keep on path onto Hankinson Road. is turn point on Hankinson Road onto walk down road Lower Cape to canal south side is the canal south side edge so turn right to pub outside tables of the pub “The Cape of Good Hope”. Third canal side pub, opens 12:00-23:00, kitchen open 12:00 to 21:00 The Cape of Good Hope, opposite two canal locks, 66 Lower Cape, (North) Warwick, CV34 5DP. Then we walk into Warwick. Smith Street in Warwick is an old town street with many small shops. Noticed one small shop on Warwick Real Ale at 13b Smith Street in Warwick sells various bottled & canned beers. Only about two seats inside and no beer garden. Saturday open 12noon until 8pm.
