| Hadrian's Wall is only 50 km from the hall (80 km by car). I've checked the timetables and it is feasible to do it by public transport, but the schedule is tight. So, if there are some cars with free seats, it might be more relaxed. Bus from the hall 8:04 - Pentrith 8:36 Penrith 8:56 - Carlisle 9:11 (return ticket 25.5 GBP) Carlisle 9:22 - Haltwhistle 9:54 Haltwhistle 9:59 - bus along the wall https://www.gonortheast.co.uk/services/GNE/AD12 I'd take the bus to Milecastle Inn or Once/Twice Brewed and walk eastwards as far as you can, or to Housesteads Roman Fort (10:27), and walk westwards towards Haltwistle. If we miss the bus, then start the walk from the station (+4 km).
